On February 18, 2026, the company officially unveiled the “Ethiopian Future Skills” initiative, a high-impact Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) program specifically designed to empower high-potential students from public schools in Addis Ababa. This project marks a significant expansion of MultiChoice Africa’s Corporate Social Investment (CSI) strategy, demonstrating a long-term commitment to community-centered educational growth within Ethiopia.

The program is far more than a basic introduction to computing; it is an intensive, 12-week immersive journey into the architecture of the modern digital world. By providing all necessary training, tools, and learning resources, MultiChoice is directly addressing the digital access and knowledge gaps that often hinder students in the public school system. This initiative follows in the footsteps of the successful MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF), applying the same philosophy of targeted talent development to the technical and scientific sectors.

The curriculum is built on three sophisticated pillars designed to move students from passive consumers of technology to active creators. Participants begin with Computational Thinking, mastering the logical reasoning and problem-solving structures that serve as the foundation for all programming. They then advance to Web Foundations, gaining hands-on experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript—the essential languages of the internet. In a forward-looking twist, the program also integrates AI-Enhanced Learning, teaching students to use artificial intelligence as a supportive tutoring tool to troubleshoot their own code and understand complex concepts in real-time.

A defining feature of this cohort is its focus on inclusivity and representative growth. Among the 30 high-potential students selected for this inaugural round, MultiChoice has maintained a strict commitment to ensuring that 50% of the participants are girls. This focus aims to inspire young women to claim their space in the tech frontier, equipped not only with technical coding skills but also with essential soft skills like teamwork and analytical problem-solving.

The three-month journey will conclude with a project-based showcase, where these young innovators will debut the digital platforms they have built, signaling their readiness to enter the professional world as capable, tech-savvy leaders.
