Emirates Holidays, the tour operating division of Emirates Airlines, has officially resumed operations in Ethiopia, following a hiatus from the local market. The company’s return is expected to provide more outbound travel options for Ethiopian residents, particularly to destinations across the Middle East, Indian Ocean, and Southeast Asia.

According to the announcement made this week, Emirates Holidays is partnering with local travel agents to offer personalized vacation packages that include Emirates flights and curated itineraries. The packages will cater to a wide range of travelers, from solo tourists and couples to families planning international holidays.

The move comes at a time when outbound travel demand from Ethiopia is steadily growing, supported by improved connectivity and access to international destinations. Emirates currently operates a daily flight from Addis Ababa to Dubai, providing links to over 145 cities in its global network.

Industry observers note that Emirates Holidays’ re-entry into the market could boost competition in the high-end leisure travel sector, while offering customers access to the airline's services such as multi-course inflight meals and its inflight entertainment platform.

The company has emphasized that its holiday packages come with financial protections through ATOL and ABTA affiliations, offering a measure of reassurance to Ethiopian travelers amid fluctuating economic conditions.

The packages are also integrated with Emirates’ frequent flyer program, Skywards, allowing customers to earn miles not only on flights but across the full holiday booking.
